SOLAR ZODIAC ASTRONOMY

Celestial bodies and space exploration have long driven Jacob Arabo’s creativity. In 2014, he translated this intimate passion into an ambitious watch concept. Astronomia is a unique translation of astrophysics into the form of a watch.

The Astronomia Solar Zodiac is a smaller, deeper, and more gem-focused version of this planetary creation. The Astronomia Solar Zodiac case is designed like an astronomer's observatory. It is a 43.40 mm version of the original Astronomia case, rounded, vertical, and surrounded by four transparent sapphire plates.

Their transparency offers a view of the entire galaxy, in a size that fits the wrist. A vibrant sun sits at the top of the movement and gives the collection its name. The rotating satellite hosts three other planets. All four symbolic stellar bodies are crafted from 288-facet gemstones of intense color, highlighting the unique shape of the Jacob & Co signature;

A starry night sky in aventurine forms the backdrop to all of this, inlaid with seven planets crafted from a selection of semi-precious stone cabochons: white granite for Mercury, rhodonite for Venus, red jasper for Mars, pietersite for Jupiter, tiger's eye for Saturn (18K rose gold applique for the rings), blue calcite for Uranus and lapis for Neptune.
